Terms & Conditions

The terms that govern repairs performed by STS Repair Memphis.

1. Service agreement

By booking a repair with STS Repair Memphis, you agree to the terms outlined on this page. All repairs are performed at our Memphis workshop located at 4646 Poplar Avenue, Suite 108.

2. Estimates & pricing

All pricing is quoted upfront before any work begins. Estimates are based on parts and labor required for your specific device and repair type. Final pricing may vary if additional damage is discovered during diagnosis, at which point we will contact you for approval.

A diagnostic/service fee applies when STS Repair Memphis performs diagnostic services and the device is determined to be non-repairable, or when the customer declines the recommended repair after diagnostic services have been performed: smartphones — $35; iPads/tablets and laptops/computers — $45. When the customer proceeds with and completes the applicable repair, the diagnostic/service fee is waived and the customer pays the authorized repair charges instead. Diagnostic/service fees compensate STS Repair Memphis for technician diagnostic time, testing, disassembly when necessary, research, and evaluation, and are not dependent upon STS Repair Memphis successfully repairing the device.

3. Device intake

When you drop off your device, we record its condition and any existing damage. We are not responsible for pre-existing data loss; please back up your device before service whenever possible.

4. Pre-existing damage & repair risk

Devices with cracked screens, damaged housings, bent frames, liquid exposure, damaged internal components, previous repair attempts, missing components, or other pre-existing damage may have an increased risk of additional failure during disassembly, testing, or repair. STS Repair Memphis is not responsible for failures caused by pre-existing damage or conditions unrelated to the service performed. If an unexpected issue occurs, STS Repair Memphis will evaluate the device to determine whether the issue resulted from the repair performed or from an existing condition.

5. Repair timeline

Most repairs are completed the same day. Some repairs may require ordering parts, which can extend the timeline. We will keep you informed of your repair status every step of the way.

6. Abandoned devices

Devices left unclaimed for more than 90 days after a completed repair, or 30 days after a declined estimate, may be considered abandoned and recycled or disposed of at our discretion.

7. Customer cancellation after parts are ordered

Once STS Repair Memphis places an order for a part, component, or other item specifically for an authorized customer repair, that order is considered committed. If the customer requests cancellation after STS Repair Memphis has placed the parts order, a $90 cancellation fee will be deducted from any amount otherwise refundable to the customer.

A delay in shipping, supplier processing, part availability, or estimated repair completion does not by itself waive the cancellation fee when the customer chooses to cancel after the parts order has already been placed. If the amount paid toward the canceled order exceeds $90, STS Repair Memphis will refund the remaining eligible balance after deducting the $90 cancellation fee, subject to applicable law. If the amount paid is $90 or less, no refund will be due following a customer-requested cancellation after the parts order has been placed, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

This policy applies to customer-requested cancellations after parts have been ordered; it is not applied when STS Repair Memphis itself cancels an order.

8. Payment

Payment is due upon repair completion unless a deposit was arranged at intake. We accept major credit and debit cards through our secure checkout.

9. Payment disputes, chargebacks & fraud

Customers are encouraged to contact STS Repair Memphis directly regarding any service or billing concern and to provide us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and address the matter. Filing a payment dispute or chargeback does not relieve the customer of obligations validly incurred under an authorized repair order or these Terms.

STS Repair Memphis reserves the right to contest chargebacks and payment disputes and to provide the financial institution, card issuer, payment processor, or other appropriate party with relevant documentation, including signed or electronic authorizations, repair orders, invoices, receipts, customer communications, photographs, diagnostic records, device records, tracking information, and records of attempts to resolve the dispute.

STS Repair Memphis distinguishes a legitimate good-faith payment dispute from fraudulent conduct. A customer will not be considered to have committed fraud merely because the customer files or pursues a payment dispute. However, knowingly making materially false statements, submitting fabricated information, intentionally misrepresenting the circumstances of a transaction, falsely claiming that an authorized transaction was unauthorized, or intentionally withholding material facts for the purpose of improperly obtaining money through a chargeback may constitute fraud or other unlawful conduct.

When STS Repair Memphis has a reasonable basis to believe fraudulent conduct has occurred, STS Repair Memphis reserves all rights and remedies available under applicable law, including contesting the chargeback, seeking recovery of amounts lawfully owed, pursuing appropriate civil remedies, and reporting suspected fraudulent conduct to the payment processor, financial institution, or appropriate authorities. Nothing in this policy restricts a customer's right to submit a legitimate, good-faith payment dispute.

10. Repair remedy / no-refund policy

Completed and installed repairs are subject to the STS Repair Memphis warranty and repair-remedy process and are not treated as ordinary merchandise returns.

If a customer experiences an issue believed to be related to a part installed or a service performed by STS Repair Memphis, the device must first be returned to STS Repair Memphis so we have a reasonable opportunity to inspect, diagnose, and, when covered, correct the issue. STS Repair Memphis will first attempt to remedy a qualifying issue through diagnosis, adjustment, repair, or replacement of the affected part, as appropriate under the applicable warranty.

A claimed post-repair issue does not automatically entitle the customer to a monetary refund without first providing STS Repair Memphis a reasonable opportunity to inspect and address the claimed problem. Except for refunds expressly provided by these Terms, refunds authorized by STS Repair Memphis, or remedies required by applicable law, completed repair services, diagnostic/service fees, labor charges, and installed parts are non-refundable.

Customer-requested cancellation after parts have been ordered is governed by the separate Customer Cancellation After Parts Are Ordered policy.

11. Installed parts & completed repairs

Once an authorized repair has been completed, the replacement part has been installed, and the device has been tested and returned in working condition, the installed part cannot be treated as unused merchandise. A qualifying defective-part claim is handled under the applicable STS Repair Memphis warranty and repair-remedy process rather than as a standard merchandise return.

12. Touch ID, Face ID & biometric functionality

Certain repairs require service near biometric components, sensors, cameras, flex cables, home-button assemblies, and other components associated with Touch ID, Face ID, fingerprint recognition, or similar biometric functionality. These systems may consist of multiple sensitive components and, in some devices, components that are electronically paired or restricted by the manufacturer.

The customer acknowledges that biometric functionality may become impaired, disabled, or permanently inoperable during or following a repair, even when the biometric feature was functional before service and STS Repair Memphis exercised reasonable care and followed appropriate repair procedures. In some cases, biometric functionality may fail without visible damage, tearing, puncturing, or other identifiable physical damage to the associated components, and the specific cause of the failure may not be reasonably determinable.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, STS Repair Memphis is not responsible for the loss, impairment, or failure of Touch ID, Face ID, fingerprint recognition, or similar biometric functionality when reasonable care was exercised during the repair and there is no evidence that the failure resulted from negligent damage caused by STS Repair Memphis. This provision also applies when biometric functionality cannot be verified before service because of a damaged display, non-functional touchscreen, no-power condition, passcode or access restriction, pre-existing damage, previous repair, or another condition that prevents testing.

Any biometric issue reported after service must be returned to STS Repair Memphis for physical inspection. STS Repair Memphis must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the device and determine whether there is evidence that the issue resulted from the repair performed and whether warranty coverage applies.

13. Liability

STS Repair Memphis is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from a repair. Our liability is limited to the cost of the repair service performed.
